Happy New Year to all!

There is a meeting at the Scout Hall at 2000hrs on the above date for those interested in the proposed further development of Dromroe.  Pat Keogh will be there, presenting his plans for extending the estate.

  1. From my dealing with Pat Keogh in the past in regards to Dromroe, I must stress that he should not be trusted. I think that it would not be in anyone's interest to have more building at the back of Dromroe due to the fact that if this was to be the case, it would lead an even bigger influx of regeneration folk, social housing folk and the like. The obvious social knock on effects for the estate should not be underestimated.

I think that the developer should be made to reinstate the area as outlined in the last planning permission and that the City Council must be encouraged to "take over" the estate.

I would also remind the committee that if a planning application was to be submitted to Limerick City Council, all existing residents who bought directly from the developer would be in breach of their contract if they choose to object to same and the resulting threat of legal action etc by the developer
